The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has confirmed the "Translational Region for Digitised Health Care (TDG)" as a centre for digital care innovation and is funding the alliance, led by Halle University Medical Centre, with a further seven million euros until 2025. The money will be used to implement around ten to twelve additional research and development projects that improve the health and care provision situation in Germany by means of digital solutions.
"Univations has accompanied the TDG from the beginning and supports it in the areas of alliance management, innovation development, communication and strategic decisions. We are very pleased that the TDG will continue to receive funding from the BMBF. This is an opportunity for our region to further establish itself as an innovation driver in the field of health and care and to positively counter the consequences of structural change," says Daniel Worch, Managing Director of Univations GmbH.
In the past two years, 21 practice-oriented research and development projects have been initiated in which 41 partners from business, science and society are involved in close cooperation. The aim is for these projects to lead to new products and services that improve the care and living situation of older or impaired people, for example, so that they can live as autonomously as possible in their familiar surroundings for as long as possible.
The "Translational Region for Digitised Healthcare" alliance was selected for implementation from around 100 applications in April 2019 as part of the pilot round of the "WIR! - Change through Innovation in the Region" programme initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
