So much innovation and start-up spirit in Saxony-Anhalt

Halle (Saale), 29.09.2022: For the startup scene in Saxony-Anhalt, the pitch event is the biggest event of the year. With its now 14-year history, the event is a permanent fixture in the state and acts as an interface between investors, companies, industry representatives and startups. The aim is to help viable business models from Saxony-Anhalt obtain initial financing and support on the path to growth.

Yesterday, 27 startups from Saxony-Anhalt presented themselves to numerous investors at the Central German Multimedia Center in Halle (Saale). With innovative business models from the fields of software for end customers and industrial applications, finance, health, e-commerce, automation, material sciences as well as nutrition, an impressive cross-section of the innovation potential in the federal state was shown. Each startup team had three minutes to convince on stage. In addition, more than 120 speed matchings took place, which enabled in-depth discussions between investors and companies. The startup Salifaktur, which is the only producer in Germany to cultivate sea asparagus, was particularly convincing. The prize of 2,500 euros was contributed by Stadtwerke Halle GmbH.

"The Investforum Pitch Day was very successful for me. On the one hand, the exchange with the other startups was very enriching. On the other hand, the discussions with the investors were very goal-oriented. I would like to emphasize the successful, pleasant setting, which made many conversations very easy. To crown this with the award is of course the highlight and motivation for Salifaktur to continue on our path," Ken Dohrmann, co-founder of Salifaktur.

The Pitch Day was opened by Stefanie Pötzsch, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, who had an intensive exchange with the founders about their needs during the event.

In the evening, Daniel Gollmann, Managing Director of Gollmann Kommissioniersysteme GmbH from Halle, reported on his journey. The company is active worldwide and offers automation solutions for pharmacies and hospitals. He told the young founders that you have to sell a good idea well in order to convince investors as well as customers.

Which of the 27 startups of the day has the potential for a similar development may already show the Investforum Pitch-Day 2023.

This year, Univations GmbH organized and hosted the event in cooperation with bmp Ventures AG. Other well-known companies and institutions, which supported the event with sponsorship funds and know-how, presented themselves in the context of an Office Hour to inform founders about their offers and opportunities for cooperation. Among them: the Bürgschaftsbank / Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt, GRUENDELPARTNER, ibg Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt, Stadtwerke Halle and the Weinberg Campus Accelerator.
